Summer Reading is Here!
This year's Children's Summer Reading Program is entitled Be Creative @ Your Library and runs for nine weeks from June 8th to August 8th. The Summer Reading Program encourages children to be good listeners and good readers as well as good library users. Registration begins June 8th and continue through mid July.
The Teen Summer Reading Program is entitled Express Yourself @ Your Library and runs from June 8th to August 8th. Teens are encouraged to read whatever they want, for as long as they want. This year, they'll be keeping track of minutes instead of books.
The Adult Summer Reading Program is all about relaxing during the summer and enjoying some great books or audio books. The program runs for nine weeks from June 8th to August 8th. This Year, you have the option of filling out the traditional book entry forms or keeping track of your reads online with the new Adult Summer Reading Club software. All-Ages Scavenger Hunt!!
Stay busy this summer scavenging for the items in the All-Ages Scavenger Hunt! The winning team will win a night out at Dependable Drive-In (Moon Twp).
This year, the scavenger hunt is going to happen online using the photo-sharing website flickr.com. The contest will last for ten weeks from June 5 to August 21. Each week a new item will be revealed on the Scavenger Hunt blog (http://splscavengerhunt.wordpress.com). Teams will have one week to find the item and take a picture of it. Pictures must have at least one team member in the photo. Each week's photo must be uploaded to the contest's flickr group. At the end of the 10 weeks, the team with the most correct submissions will win the night at the drive-in. Get more information at the SPL Scavenger Hunt blog. |

June Display Cases
