Loan Periods
3 Weeks for books / audio cassette books / books on CD / Kits and other
library materials. Limit of 20 items per card. Only 5 Books on CD
can be borrowed at one time from Plum. Only 5 music CDs from Plum at one time.

Adults' Card - 1 Week for Plum videos / Plum DVDs / magazines / and vertical files.
20 items total, limit of 10 VHS and 10 DVDs at one time. Limit of 10 music CDs.
Out of the 10 DVDs; only 5 can be borrowed from Plum Library
at one time. Other DVDs can be requested and borrowed from other
libraries. Same as above with music CDs.

Childs’ Card - 20 items total, limit of 5 VHS at one time. Limit 5 DVDs.

Check Out Policy:
A patron must present their library card or picture identification
with current address to check out library materials under their name.
Borrowing Information - The library participates in Access Pennsylvania,
the state-wide library card system. This entitles most residents of the
state to borrowing privileges.

Borrower’s cards are issued free of charge.

To renew your books, review your account and much more. Overdue items
cannot be renewed. Call the library and we can renew for you. Please
have your library card barcode number handy. Fines can now be paid online. You will need to set up a PIN number.
You need your library card barcode to access My Account and to order
books online.

Access PA POWER Library From our Homepage, click PA Power Library. You will need your library card barcode for access from your home computer.

Click on Find It! from our homepage, then click on hundredes of databases
for a wealth of information.

Special Services
Children’s Programs - Outreach programs that promote literacy, and
in-house programs. See Liz Kostandinu for more information.

Inter-Library Loans - Books not owned by this library may be
borrowed from libraries in Allegheny County, out of county and
out of state, through The Catalog. You will need a pin number and a log-on. Follow the on-screen directions.

Computers - Patron use of 9 internet computers, Microsoft
Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel for reports, homework,
resumes and more. Mozilla Fire Fox, JAWS, MAGic, Roxio, VLC Media Player, Meebo Instant Messaging, 1 children’s computer with game software.

Fax, Copy Machine, Color/B&W print outs. .15 for B&W copies/prints and .75 for color laser print-outs. Please print preview to print out exactly what you want.

Story Times & Other Programs - Children’s Programs/ Story Times, Adult Programs,
Book Clubs, Teen Programs

Annual Chess Tournament held in February.

Summer Reading Program 6 weeks of fun for all ages.

Meeting Room Available for Non-Profit Groups. Please fill out
agreement at desk.

BiFokal Kits - Sensory kits with slides, workbooks, and artifacts
to encourage communication.

Memorials or Honorariums - You may stop at the library to request
a memorial to honor a deceased friend or relative. Notice is
immediately sent to the family. Special occasion honorariums
can also be made.

Plum Heritage Series - Programs that promote local history of
Plum and surrounding communities. Joint cooperation of the Plum
Library and the Allegheny Foothills Historical Society.
Held 6 months out of the year, spring and fall.
